Traditionally, Forest Week is held annually in the first week of April. There are various events dedicated to the protection of forests in Bulgaria.
This year, due to the complicated situation of the Coronavirus epidemic, the Executive Agency for Forests canceled the planned events, but challenged young people to write, paint and create on the topic “Forest”. The purpose of the initiative is to encourage adolescents to share their emotions through creativity, and to focus on forest and nurturing in love and care for nature.
Our team at Forest Week will share with you pictures of Strandja Mountain forests, taken between the villages of Kosty and Slivarovo.
In this area, besides age-old trees, there are unique plant species such as the Strandzha greens.
